“ Ordered Drunken Noodles on a 95° day! It was so hot inside the truck, the coins I received in change were hot! My dish was made with fresh ingredients and had a nice and authentic spice to it! Surprisingly generous with the chicken as well, which is something I'm not seeing too often these days! The truck came to me, so I don't know when I'll have a chance to order from them again, but I wouldn't hesitate to do so! If you see the truck and fancy some good Thai food, check it out! ”

“ Pretty darn good Thai for a good truck. I got drunken noodles and they have a spicy kick to them, just like I like. My one complaint is that the dish is heavy on the noodle, a little light on other ingredients. It was worth a 5 minute wait for something made fresh and hot (in 98 degree heat though...). With no other Thai trucks around, this gets to be King of the Southeast Orient in my book. Trumpet on, elephant. ”

“ With a number of Thai restaurants in town, it took me a while to warm up to the idea of getting Thai food from a truck. But now I'm hooked! Recently I was standing there trying to decide what to order when the girl behind me asked her friend what she should order, and the friend said "Oh, DEFININTELY get the chicken pad thai!!" So that's what I did. And that's when my addiction started. Their chicken pad thai is some of the best I've ever had. It's hot and spicy, and has the perfect balance of sweet and peanuty flavors. Since then, I've been exploring the menu, and their other dishes are solid, too. I love the chicken with cashew nuts and the pad see ew. The red curry chicken and the spicy basil chicken are both good too, though I've had better at restaurants such as Bangkok City or Sri Thai. Overall, though, when I need my quick fix of Thai food, the elephant never lets me down. ”

“ I'm super spoiled when it comes to eating Thai food because I work in Elmhurst, Queens and I have access to about 5 fantastic Thai restaurants within walking distance of my job. I am big Thai enthusiast and have eaten a lot of really good, authentic Thai cooking. When my husband declared he had some great Thai food from a truck, I kinda rolled my eyes and said, "Sure you did, honey." But this guy wouldn't let up. "Follow them on Facebook" he hounded me, "and let me know when they will be in Montclair again." So the day after Thanksgiving, the Elephant is in Montclair and off we go. #1. The owner is the nicest guy. #2. Here is the run down of what we had: Chicken Satay: Perfectly moist, spiked with just the amount of curry, char grilled to perfection. (I do like the peanut sauce from Spicy Shallot in Queens better though.) Pad Thai: Five large shrimp. Pad Thai is to Thai as marinara is to Italian; the benchmark to measure quality. With that being said, it's the Best Pad Thai I've had, and I love Pad Thai. Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mow): Ordered with beef. Delicate, flat rice noodles (they look like wide egg noodles) stir fried with onion, red bell pepper, chili paste, scallion, jalapeno and fresh Thai basil. Every noodle seemed infused with garlic and chili, followed by just a touch of sweetness and the heat on your tongue. Just so, so good that I ignored the slow burn in my mouth. We ordered this mild and it still had a kick, so consider yourself warned. Spicy Basil Chicken: Basil outside of Italian is something everyone should experience. There's something about the blank slate of chicken that takes on flavors so well. For the basil lovers like myself, this Thai dish is a winning combination. The flavors were beyond perfect and it was the most memorable one we ate. Each bite was just thrilling. You MUST try this when you go. The nice thing about food is how honest it is: it's either good or it's not. If it's good, it cheers you up in a jiffy. I couldn't help but be pleased after sampling the amazing Thai cuisine at the Elephant Truck. Also, nice bonus: they accept credit cards. ”

“ Best Thai I have had in a long time and we are enormous Thai enthusiasts - always searching for a yummy place to check out. The food is incredibly fresh - the green beans in my Drunken Noodles were from the owner's mother's garden and had that fresh snap. Everything tasted fresh, well-balanced, and spiced to perfection. The Mango Sticky Rice was mind-blowingly good! I could eat that every single day. Take a bite of the mango, then the rice and a little nibble of the fresh mint (also from grandma's garden) and chew that all together slowly... follow it with a sip of the Thai Tea... yep. Bliss. My boyfriend ordered the pad thai - we feel that's how you can really judge a Thai place... and it was perfection. Honestly. I wish I could have it for lunch right now. Order the Thai Tea as well - best I've had. We'll be going back to them many many times. The food is incredibly authentic and delicious and the service is kind, generous, conversational.... such a wonderful truck to grace New Jersey and especially Hoboken!
